Psychology: He's a bit of both and introvert and extrovert. Luka is reserved, quiet, shy and has a dangerous air about him that comes from his past and his military training but he loves people and has a good sense of humor. He likes to try and become friends with everyone he works with and He rarely loses his temper.

Personality: Luka and the family he lives with speak English and several other languages fluently but sometimes can be hard to understand due to Romanian accents that get thicker when tired. He has a talent, like his cousin, Vladimir of being able to 'hide in the shadows' and scaring the crap out of people when he does finally show himself or says something and no one knew he was in the room. He is the caregiver and will often go out of his way for others to help them (Just as long as he doesn't have to break the law).

Luka does have a fear of spiders and other creepy crawling bugs but tries not to let it get in the way of his job. He and the rest of his family believe in the supernatural so they're not ones to joke lightly about vampires and other 'creatures of the night'

Physical Description: Luka is physically the healthiest in his family, standing at 5' 10" and weighing about 140 pounds. The extra strength he keeps up is from his military background and helping to care for his physically disabled niece make him even more imposing. Short dark brown hair, dark brown eyes and medium toned tanned skin makes him look Italian although he’s genitally three quarters Russian, a quarter Czechoslovakian and Romanian.

Lifestyle

Occupation: Lesion officer between the Serviciul Român de Informaţii (SRI) (Romanian domestic intelligence service) and the NYPD, working through the Manhattan Medical Examiner's office. He also worked in Romania as a physician trained in Emergency medicine, Trauma, Cardiology, Obstetrics and alternative therapies. Like his cousin, Vladimir, he's certified to work in Emergency medicine and when he's not doing autopsies he works in the St. Vincent's Emergency Room on a medical exchange program.

Residence: Staten Island, New York

History: Luka is the product of war crimes during the Cold War. His mother, Nada Tatiana (Abelyan) Hoffman was raped at age 19 by a Russian/Romanian soldier while living in Moscow. Nada later moved back to her home town of Sighişoara before Luka was born where she made her way as a housemaid and raised Luka in her own for the first three years of his life. When Luka was just about four, Nada met and later married a Romanian Romani named Danil Miroslav Hoffman. Danil fell in love with Luka as well as Nada and adopted the boy as his own. If you were to ask Luka or anyone else in his family who his father is they would say Danil Miroslav Hoffman, no questions asked.

Luka loved and was loved by everyone in his new family except his father's mother who saw Nada as nothing more then a whore and Luka a fatherless bastard. Danil and Nada avoided the woman as much as they could and when Luka turned sixteen they added to the family with the birth of a baby boy they named Alexi.

Luka had just joined the Romanian Army but loved being a big brother and loved having someone to protect, teach and play with. He occasionally would bring Alexi to the base where he was stationed and show him off as 'his baby brother'. Alexi ate up the attention and love and it was on one such visit with his brother when he was three that Luka realized his baby brother was very special. Luka had left out some numbered blocks on the floor of his unit's common room and came back to his unit crowed around the spunky three year old as he multiplied three digit numbers in his head and wrote out the numbers in the blocks.

Stunned and very proud, Luka took Alexi home and had the boy show their parents what he could do. Stunned and proud themselves Danil and Nada took Alexi to a research hospital in Bucharest where Alexi was found to have a genius level I.Q. Danil and Nada moved to Bucharest and Luka transferred to Bucharest so that Alexi would get the special advanced schooling he needed.

Luka later joined the Serviciul Român de Informaţii (SRI) (Romanian domestic intelligence service) and started medical school in Bucharest so that he could keep an eye on his brother. Even though Alexi has a genius level I.Q. he could very easily let his mind get in the way and get himself in trouble.

He had to relax the surveillance on Alexi after medical school when he was put on active duty with the Serviciul Român de Informaţii (SRI) (Romanian domestic intelligence service) but would still check in on his brother and other family from time to time. Being on hand to help with big family events or medical emergencies such as the birth of Alexi's seven-year-old daughter Nada Tatiana Hoffman, named after their mother.

Luka continued to serve the Serviciul Român de Informaţii (SRI) (Romanian domestic intelligence service) in Bucharest until Alexi's wife died of cancer and he had to move to the U.S. last year. Luka put in for a transfer and became part of an extended medical exchange program. He continues to serve the Serviciul Român de Informaţii (SRI) (Romanian domestic intelligence service), like his cousin Vladimir as a lesion officer between the Serviciul Român de Informaţii (SRI) (Romanian domestic intelligence service) and the NYPD, working through the Manhattan Medical Examiner's office.

He is a Romanian citizen working in the US on an extended visa.

Luka now lives with his brother, Alexi and Alexi's daughter Nada in a fairly large house just outside of the city on Staten Island that has about five acres of room for their animals. Their cousins own the ‘farm’ Vladimir and Damek who also live there with their children... Vladimir's twins Konstantin and Danika and Damek's son Nicholai.

Two horses Esca and Hadrian, two breeding Siberian Huskies Milica and Vasska, a red tailed hawk named Radu and a Golden Eagle named Vladimir.

All the animals are trained to work on the farm, help around the house or do some sort of trick.

The boys are also 'Living History' renactors. Teaching others about life in the Ancient Roman Imperial Army.
